Compartmentalizing

This is a subject you've probably heard me talk about before: compartmentalizing ones life.  We all wear many hats.  We have our personal life, our professional life, our family life, our social life, etc. etc.  I've talked to several people who have very different opinions about whether one should compartmentalize or not.

Some say that compartmentalizing drives you crazy because if you try to separate certain aspects of yourself when you are around certain people you're only robbing yourself and them of the full person that you are.  Others say that in order to stay sane you need to separate the different aspects of your life and give them the individual attention they deserve.  The common theme seems to be that either one will make you "insane" or "crazy".  If crazy is all I get then I think I choose the latter of the two because not everyone appreciates everything you are so why give them what they don't even want?  What are your opinions and thoughts on this?

Austentatious

I want to keep this blog better updated.  I landed a fun role on a new tv show that I was filming this summer called Austentatious.  It's a modern day take on Jane Austen characters and I play Elinor Dashwood.  I'm not able to disclose too much about it yet because there are some different networks looking at it and until it gets picked up we can't give too much away, but it's been a lot of fun!  I'll share a few photos.

Bookings I've recently had

I've had several bookings this fall that I'm very grateful for.  I just recently shot commercials for Exxon Mobil, America First Credit Union, and Primary Mortgage which should be airing soon.  I also shot an industrial video for Extra Space Storage which was a lot of fun.

My little girls also booked their first commercial this fall for Steven Henager College which was really exciting.  They did so good on set and it was fun to start their little college funds.  My family all got sick this last week so I missed several auditions, including one for a Disney movie but that's just how life goes sometimes.  I'm just so grateful that we are finally all healthy again and the holiday season is here!  There is so much to be grateful for.  Getting sick actually helped remind me to be thankful for my health, which I very much am!

I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving and wonderful holiday season! Remember to count your blessings and focus on the positive things in your life!

xoxo Kristen

Family

I haven't blogged in a really long time, and I usually don't blog about personal things on here, but tonight is different.

I just wanted to say that my family is the greatest blessing in my life.  I'm so grateful to my husband for supporting my dreams and essentially supporting and nurturing who I am as a person. He's amazing.  And I am SO very grateful for my beautiful daughters.  God sent them to us, I have no doubt about that.

I hope this song brightens your day.

"I'll never let go Jack, I'll never let go..."

I let go of art to live life and realized that life is dead without art. Dreams give hope and hope gives life. Keep dreaming, keep creating, always.

Rings of the Tree

There has been A LOT going on this month! The greatest news in the world is that my husband and I will be adopting twin girls by the end of next month. We are SOOO EXCITED!! We have a family blog so I try to keep this blog more focused on creative projects rather than personal matters. Here's my latest project: A music video promoting a multi-media play I was in (but had to drop out of because of the timing of the adoption) called "Rings of the Tree" which opens this weekend. It's going to be a phenomenal show.  You can purchase tickets at www.ziontheatrecompany.com
